Fable has long envisioned a world beyond the dining table, and with the expertise of Senior Product Development Manager Christy Caza, that dream has now come to fruition. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating spaces that feel warm and inviting, Christy has played a pivotal role in bringing The Living Collection to life—a new collection that seamlessly blends Fable’s signature aesthetic with the comforts of home.
“Expanding into home decor felt like a natural next step for Fable,” Christy says. “The living room is adjacent to the dining room, and it’s a space where people gather. It made sense to create pieces that would make this central area of the home even more inviting."
Each piece in The Living Collection was crafted with this philosophy at its core—timeless, everyday products that infuse the home with a sense of enduring comfort and effortless style. Here, Christy shares the inspiration and creative process that shaped the collection.
"The design philosophy behind The Living Collection is centered on crafting timeless, everyday products that bring warmth and comfort to the home."

The design process behind Fable’s washable wool rugs was driven by a desire to offer a beautiful, all-natural alternative in a market dominated by synthetic materials and chemical coatings. Christy set out to create a machine washable rug that didn’t compromise on quality or sustainability.
“Through development, we worked with other yarns and weaves until we found one that we felt was the most durable, washable, and aesthetically pleasing,” Christy shares. The result is a rug made from certified New Zealand wool, chosen for its long-lasting durability and natural resistance to staining—bringing both style and practicality to the home.
Blending sleek design and sustainable innovation, The Curve Table Light is crafted in collaboration with Gantri in San Leandro, California. Known for their forward-thinking approach, they use a cutting-edge 3D printing process to make the light from an innovative plant polymer material that’s derived from non-GMO sugarcane, making it 100% biodegradable.
“Our ambient table light is designed with modern lines and subtle curves,” Christy notes of the design she developed. “It features a generous cord length, a dimmer switch, and an easily replaceable LED light, combining functionality with eco-friendly design.”
In the realm of modern, minimal art frames, variety can be hard to come by. When Christy set out to design Fable’s frames, she knew she wanted to include a distinguishing feature to elevate them from the ordinary. The solution? Subtly rounded corners—a detail that, while elegantly simple, proved surprisingly complex to perfect.
“We explored multiple iterations of The Rounded Frame, experimenting with different materials and working with various makers,” Christy explains. “We ultimately found our expression in these sleek aluminum frames, which are both lightweight and easy to hang."
Finished by hand at the same ceramics facility as our dinnerware, The Planters came naturally for Fable—but when designing them, Christy wanted to go beyond just aesthetics. With simplified plant care in mind, she landed on the perfect blend of form and function.
“We added three drainage holes to the pot and an extra-deep tray that collects excess water,” Christy says. This thoughtful design prevents water from spilling over, and also promotes air circulation, which is vital for healthy plants.
The Living Collection represents the culmination of thoughtful design, sustainable practices, and a deep understanding of how people use and interact with their living spaces—and Christy’s passion for creating pieces that make a home feel warm and inviting comes through in every piece.
North, south, east, or west, let’s get your Fable flying in the right direction.
