We bought the tall and short glasses and they are so nice. We’ve only had them a few months and we’ve already seen two incidents where a normal glass would have smashed. These literally do bounce off the floor. They’re light and super clear. We love them!

    Beautiful glassware

    I absolutely love this glassware set that I purchased it about a year and a half ago now and regularly put it in the dishwasher and have had no problems. I see another buyer unfortunately had theirs broken in the dishwasher and I suspect it could be because another non-glass item could have crashed into it in the dishwasher or something like that, but I’ve dropped mine from counter height onto tile and it didn’t even crack. I was actually amazed. I use them everyday and love how the shorter glasses store on top of the taller glasses so perfectly I think they’re gorgeous.

    These really need to be borosilicate

    For the price and the claims they make when advertising these, they really need to be made from borosilicate glass (not the cheaper soda-lime, which is easily breakable and prone to shattering even when reinforced).

    I purchased two sets of both the short and tall glasses (so 8 of each, 16 total) about 2 years ago. They definitely do break, and I had 2 break in my 6 months of owning them (one of each)… my kitchen floors are wood (so not hard compared to tile) and the first time I dropped one it did bounce, but the second time I dropped one it shattered into a million sliver shards (because it’s soda-lime glass). I also had one mysteriously develop a crack in the dishwasher without any sort of impact; I do not subject these to any extreme hot-to-cold temperature shifts, so it’s really concerning that that happened. Since then, I baby these glasses and am careful about not letting them knock up against anything. Meanwhile I had a set of 2 borosilicate merlot glasses for over 15 years that I dropped on tile well over a dozen times and they bounced without any breaking or scratching. The fable glasses are definitely scratch resistant, but they do scratch (and the bottoms scratch up pretty easily). I also have to be careful not to let silicone touch them in the dishwasher, because one time the edge of a silpat mat was up against the base of one of these glasses and they fused together and needed to be gently ripped apart (I get that glass is made from silica and dishwashers get…
